Refugee –<\/span> a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

That about sums it up don’t you think?<\/p>\n

So why as American Citizens would we turn our backs on those that we have watched night after night being bombed?\u00a0 Children now orphaned because their parents have been killed by those bombs, how do you watch a child covered in blood, obviously in shock and not have the heart to say “come little one to the United States where you will be safe”?\u00a0 How can anyone be that heartless?<\/p>\n

Illegal Immigrant – \u00a0an alien<\/span> (non-citizen)<\/span> who<\/span> has<\/span> entered<\/span> the<\/span> United<\/span> States<\/span> without<\/span> government<\/span> permission<\/span> or stayed<\/span> beyond<\/span> the<\/span> termination<\/span> date<\/span> of a visa.<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n

This one is hard for me.\u00a0 Do I think people should be sneaking across borders in the middle of the night without following the rules?\u00a0 No.\u00a0 But here is the problem, it’s been allowed for so long that now\u00a0we have a situation where these people have now given birth to children here in the United States, making the children natural born citizens.\u00a0 Do I think you split up these families? No.\u00a0 I think that is unfair to the children that had absolutely nothing to do with their parents decision.<\/p>\n

I do believe that illegal immigration needs to be stopped.\u00a0\u00a0Do I think there needs to be a wall? No.\u00a0 Do I think there needs to be better border patrolling? Yes.\u00a0 Here’s the deal, if someone wants something bad enough they are going to figure out a way to get it.\u00a0 No matter how many locks you have on your front door, if someone wants to rob you they will find a way in.\u00a0 So I don’t believe a wall is the answer.\u00a0 Not only that, but I don’t care to pay for said wall.<\/p>\n

So here are some thoughts…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each case is different and needs to be thoroughly reviewed.\u00a0 At this point to me that is the only thing to do.<\/p>\n

Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos the illegal immigrant in Phoenix, Arizona that was deported due to being an illegal immigrant.\u00a0 Who at one time had been arrested\/convicted for\u00a0using a fake Social Security number for employment (this happened 8 years ago).\u00a0 She has two children born in the United States.\u00a0 ICE determined the 35-year-old mother of two\u00a0had no “legal basis to remain in the U.S”.\u00a0 Hello?\u00a0 How about the fact that she has two children that are United States citizens that are under age?\u00a0 I know, let’s remove the children’s parents so that the kids can become juvenile delinquents.\u00a0 Isn’t that like cutting off your nose to spite your face? (Am I showing my age?)<\/p>\n

Question:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is the illegal immigrant a working, contributing member of society?\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0\u00a0By all means stay, become a citizen, pay taxes, pay into Social Security, have a family, teach your children a good work ethic, emphasize the importance of an education.\u00a0\u00a0 Be an example for your children, be a good citizen.\u00a0 I do it every single day, how hard can it be?<\/p>\n

Question:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is the illegal immigrant living off the system, not contributing to society, not working, being a criminal, just here for the ride?\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0\u00a0Deport them.<\/p>\n

I think you have to look at the situation as a whole.<\/p>\n

Come to think of it, my Great Great Grandfather, James Finch stowed away on a boat from England to get to the United States in 1868, where he denounced\u00a0his loyalty to\u00a0England and the Queen so that he could become a United States Citizen.\u00a0 So yeah he was here illegally, but the United States welcomed him with open arms.<\/p>\n

Immigrant – a person who comes to a country to take up permanent residence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I think Immigration is an important part of our history.\u00a0 All of you that know me, know that I am very much into Genealogy.\u00a0 My family immigrated from Scotland\/Ireland and England.\u00a0 All of us are immigrants and all of us want a better way of life.\u00a0 I won’t pretend to know the laws of immigration.\u00a0\u00a0What I do know is that this country is not called the “melting pot” for nothing.<\/p>\n
