Betty Smith(my mother) was born to Lee Smith and Lena Evadene Wilson. That's right I am named after my Grandmother. I don't remember my Grandpa Smith, he left California about 1966.
format very much as I dig deeper into the past. I did not grow up with my mother and as I dig more and more this truly becomes a labor of love. Over the last couple of years I have had lots of help piecing this family together. My Uncle Richard and Aunt Judy who tirelessly answer questions and my cuz Magoo for taking the time to run with my questions and get answers for me.

Lee Smith was born September 22, 1911 in Jefferson County, Illinois to John Elvis Smith and Ada Leona Palmer. He died April 17, 1984 in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illnois.
Lena Evadene Wilson was born January 5, 1919 in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois to Lee Wilson and Della Williams. She died February 15, 1995 in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada.
Lee Smith and Lena Wilson married about 1936 in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois.
About 1958 they moved to California and took up residence in Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara County, California. In 1966 Lee moved back to Illinois, Lena Wilson Smith stayed in California. In April 1969
Lee Smith and Lena Wilson Smith divorced.

Living Smith Born April 7, 1943 in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois.

Della Williams was born September 2, 1881 in Posey County, Indiana to LaVega Trafton Williams and Aletha E. Gooch. She died May 23, 1945 in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois.
She married Leo "Lee" Wilson July 3, 1901 in White County, Illinois
Leo "Lee" Wilson was born June 18, 1876 in Boonville, Warrick County, Indiana to John Vincent Wilson and Evangeline "Angeline" West. He died May 5, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois.
Della Williams and Lee Wilson had eight children:
